Arlington, TX on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington on January 23, 2010.

The NRFL is the creation of Todd Knapp. The league will be a reality show consisting of six teams from six different areas of the country. Players will be selected to their team by the votes of fans after viewing profiles on the website including film from previous games. The players will receive time on television including the possibility of cameras following them to work and their every-day lives. Some of the players will also be endorsing products thereby receiving more money for their participation.

The NRFL is inviting in former college football players and present day semi-pro and minor league football players to the try-out for a chance to be on the reality show. The try-outs will consist of the opportunity to have a profile created along with a combine-type of workout which will help fans make their decisions. Further, the NRFL will have over $10,000 worth of prizes and cash to give away for contests such as strongest football player, longest field goal, fastest player and quarterback challenge. There will also be a dance competition to put together a dance team for the Dallas area. All area dancers are invited to participate.

For more information about the NRFL, visit their website at www.realityfootballusa.com or call the league office at (321) 591-3535.

As we get about a month in to the Fall season, the news is coming fast and furious for the Spring leagues. That has me excited, and what’s more, teams and personnel are sending us their news. We haven’t gotten all of the news, but the past week, a lot has come down.

If you notice on the front page, a lot of stories were posted on Thursday night/Friday morning (October 9, 2009). Teams are announcing tryouts, dancer tryouts, Spirit Girl tryouts, mergers, schedules and location of games. We are getting stories and press releases from teams that we have never heard from before. Dfwfootball.net is becoming a major player in semi pro and minor league football, both indoor and outdoor, men’s and women’s .

I have had the pleasure of meeting players, coaches and owners all over what some have called the best sports area in the country. Further, I know that the DFW area is a great place for other kinds of sports as well. A few weeks ago I met a member of the staff for the Texas Outlaws of the Professional Arena Soccer League. And who can forget the recent success of the hockey Brahmas, and the Fort Worth Cats and the Grand Prairie Airhogs baseball teams?

Keep us bookmarked. We are trying to do our best to offer major coverage for the semi pro football teams. We have plans for a new e-newsletter which some of you have already signed up for. It will be called the Last Yard, and you can sign up by clicking on this link.

I have talked to at least two owners about helping them sell their season tickets at Dfwfootball.net. We are going to set up a directory with all of the teams’ information so that when someone wants more information or learn how to try out, it will be easily accessible. We are also going to set up a “classifieds” section on the site which will also help connect teams and future players as well as give folks a chance to advertise any jobs that they need filled.

For you business owners, more advertising opportunities will be available beginning in January of 2010. This site is more visitors every week! You don’t want to miss the opportunity to reach a growing audience within a unique niche.

For now, I urge football fans at this site to be ready to watch the UTA Mavericks football club play. They will have two home games on the 17th and 24th of October. Let’s get out and support them! They travel to Alabama this weekend to take on the Concordia Hornets. Go Mavs!

If you can’t wait for football, then you are in luck. There is a big game on Saturday, August 15 in Dallas. The game is a powder puff, flag football game between Blondes and Brunettes. The game is an event organized to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Check out the Blondes vs. Brunettes website and make plans to attend. To get in the act, WFAA TV’s Dale Hansen and Pete Delkus have a friendly wager on who can raise the most money. Hansen vs. Delkus is always a lot of fun to keep up with.

Check out these beauties take on a great cause!

Collin County, TX–On Saturday, July 11, 2009, the North Texas Crunch will host the IIFA Bowl II against the Texas Wranglers at the Blue Sky Sports Center in The Colony, Texas. The North Texas Crunch and the American Heart Association are teaming up on this special occasion to help tackle heart disease in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and we need your help.

The For nearly a century, cardiovascular diseases have been responsible for more deaths in the United States than any other cause, claiming a life every 37 seconds. You can make a difference. Help us create a world free of heart disease and stroke.

Since 1949, the American Heart Association has grown rapidly in size, financial resources, involvement with medical and non-medical volunteers, and influence — both nationally and internationally. The AHA moved the National Center from New York City to Dallas in 1975 to better serve affiliates and local divisions nationwide.

The volunteer-led affiliates and their divisions form a national network of local AHA organizations involved in providing research, education, and community programs and in raising money to support the association’s work. The network continues to gain strength as it expands at the grass-roots level.

Unfortunately, it still isn’t enough and more needs to be done. That’s where we all come in.

The North Texas Crunch are asking the great football fans of North Texas area to help us collect donations at the IIFA Bowl II championship game and on the North Texas Crunch website (http://www.crunchfootball.net/). The North Texas Crunch will donate half of our gate profits to the American Health Association in honor of our great fans.

As many of you know, the hurricane season is fast approaching. Many of us will never forget the year both Hurricanes Katrina and Rita battered the gulf coast. Every year thousands are affected by hurricane damage throughout the country. That’s where teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth area come in.

Starting on July 5, 2009, we are issuing a challenge to all of the DFW football teams including Women’s (Mustangs and Diamonds), semi-pro, minor league, eight-man, and indoor football teams to donate to the American Red Cross in preparation for the hurricane season. Here is how it works.

The fan, reader, player, etc. logs on to the American Red Cross’ website (www.american.redcross.org) and choose a fund to donate from. I am encouraging you to donate to the Disaster Relief Fund, but it is your choice. Make an online donation to the Red Cross to the fund you choose. You will receive an email receipt. Simply forward a copy of the receipt to charity@dfwfootball.net. In the email or subject line, indicate the football team that you represent.

That’s it. It is that simple. I will then tally the amount of money donated to the Red Cross in the name of said team. We allow two weeks for fans, players and readers to make their donation and email the receipts to me. All receipts must be emailed to me by July 18.

Then, in August, the team that wins, will have their logo or helmet displayed along with a notation of being the Charity Challenge winners on our website. We will place it prominently along with a link to your team.

This is a great chance to do something that is good, donating to the Red Cross, and a chance to show die-hard support for you team. Are you ready?

I have a deal for you. For $600, you can have the leaderboard ad (728X90) at dfwfootball.net for 12 months. Remember, in just a few short months, we will be entering the heart of football season. The traffic we have now should double, maybe even triple.

In addition, you will receive a decent ad at my blog collegefootballtopten.com as well advertising in the fall football preview E mag which will come out in July. All I will need to get you started will be a jpg image 728 pixels wide by 90 pixels high . The ad can be flash-based if you would like.

The term of 12 months will take you through this fall football seasons plus a spring football season. Dfwfootball.net has a Google page rank of 3, after only four months, and is moving up in the rankings at Alexa.

This is a great opportunity to see if internet advertising will work for your business. Our readers are sports fans, as well as players, their families and friends. It would be a great place to advertise to a sports-base market located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

In addition, you can purchase advertising with a 250X250 button for $180 for 6 months. These buttons can be a jpg, png, or gif format. If you choose, you can pay $300 for 12 months which is discounted more than 15%.

If you are interested in being part of a business directory which will sponsor some of the features at dfwfootball.net, let me know. I am in the process of working on that. It would be a page which will have businesses listed with info and logo for a set price for the whole year. There will be a limited number of spaces.

You can contact me via the contact page to let me know if you are interested in any of the available plans. I will then send you an email so that you can pay through paypal.
