Interns
Well, the time has come to take on an intern, or two. So, we are looking to hire two interns for the Spring. The job description/announcement is below.
The intern jobs are designed for college students seeking a degree in communications or journalism. Writing will be important. We are not going to have you emptying the trash or filing papers. We need you to write.
Dfwfootball.net Interns
Dfwfootball.net is looking for two interns for the Spring of 2010. The persons selected for these internship jobs will report directly to the website owner. The position will require approximately 10-15 hours per week. Job should be completed by Thanksgiving.
Dfwfootball.net is a niche website covering semi-pro, minor league and women’s professional football in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Responsibilities
- Report on games by submitting game write-ups.
- Individuals may make use of social media to help promote site
- Be available on Saturdays to cover games
- Help with other projects for other websites as needed
- Write press releases for Dfwfootball.net
Qualifications and Skills Needed
- Be a college student in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
- Experience with blogging and/or writing
- Experience using blogging platforms (Wordpress is a plus)
- Experience using social media including: Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and bookmarking sites
- Excellent communications
- Experience or the intuitiveness of identifying a good story
- The ability to be flexible, innovative and creative
- Experience and comfortable with Web 2.0 and New Media
- Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision
- Knowledge and love of football is helpful, but not necessary
- Be available for a staff meeting once per week

Although these positions are unpaid, they will still have its share of pluses. First and foremost, interns will get to work in a fun environment! Interns will attend semi-pro football games in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the opportunity to learn first-hand how to conduct interviews with coaches and players and take notes for game write-ups. Interns will be able to benefit from connections of site owner including a Linkedin profile that includes media members, authors, minor league team owners, marketing experts and sports industry members. Further, the interns will receive a byline at Dfwfootball.net.
