(North Texas Crunch Indoor Professional Football Team, Southlake, TX)–The North Texas Crunch and Owner/GM Larry Hendrix announced today that the team will hold their first tryout of the year on Friday Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Southlake, Texas.

The tryout will take place at Velocity Sports Performance located at 1800 East Highway 114 in Southlake, TX. Registration and warm-up will begin at 2:00pm with the tryout starting at 2:30pm.
COST: $40 – advanced registration most be in by September 26th 2010,

The Independent Indoor Football Alliance back to back champions North Texas Crunch has made the Stampede Sports Arena in Southlake their home for their 2010 season. The North Texas Crunch Indoor Professional Football Team completed their second season in the IIFA finishing with a record of 6 wins, 2 defeats and winning the IIFA 2009 championship defeating the Texas Wranglers 52-12 in The Colony Texas at Blue Sky Sports Center on July 11, 2009. The first season in the IIFA the Crunch finished with a record of 8 wins, 3 defeats and won the 2008 IIFA championship by defeating the Galveston Thunderstorm 52-50 in Galveston Texas at the Galveston Convention Center on July 26, 2008.

The North Texas Crunch will play 15 games for their 2010 regular season opening on the road against the East Texas Drillers on March 14th in Tyler Texas. The Crunch will host their first home game against the Texas Wranglers on Sunday April 4 at the Stampede Sports Arena.

The goal of the North Texas Crunch is to be a contributor in the community that we play and work within. We are here to provide the people in our community the highest quality of family-oriented entertainment possible at an affordable price. It is also our intention to operate as closely to the standards of major-league sports as possible while still maintaining the service levels of a hometown franchise. This specifically means treating each and every guest (ticket holder) and partner (corporate sponsor) with the very best in service at all times. The Dallas Vigilantes will be conducting an open tryout on February 21, 2010 at UTA Maverick Stadium. Testing will consist of the 40-

yard dash and 20-yard shuttle. We will evaluate athletes in 1-on-1 and group drills. Bring appropriate footwear for field turf and a mouthpiece. Registration will begin promptly at 9:00 AM Tryout will proceed “Rain or Shine”.

The North Texas Crunch is calling upon young women 18 & up, to be a part of the Krunchette Dance Team. . The Krunchettes will perform at each home game during the season (March through late June 2010) as well as interacting with fans during pre-game, half-time shows, contests and other various appearances throughout the community during the season. Prior dance experience not necessary but a fun, positive, outgoing attitude is beneficial.

Dallas of arenafootball1, will be conducting an open tryout on December 13, 2009.

The tryout will consist of athletes being tested in the 40-yard dash and 20-yard short shuttle. We will then proceed to position drills, one-on-one and then skeleton.

The surface is field-turf.

Avengers vs. Stampede in the 3rd quarter of the Ronald McDonald Bowl

According to Robin Brummett, team secretary, the Avengers raised enough money to sponsor a room at the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth for an entire year.  In addition, they raised enough money to help fund the suppers the Avengers regularly host at the house. Also, the Avengers took up two big boxes of food to donate to the House pantry.

Nevertheless, there was a game to be played.  The North Texas Stampede was the opponent for the Avengers at Fossil Ridge High School, and the Stampede was looking to avenge the North Conference Championship game from the Spring.  And, for a half, it looked like they were on their way.  The Stampede jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Avengers came back under the direction of new quarterback Pat Fields.  Former quarterback Terry Barber has moved to calling plays, and the Avengers played three different quarterbacks.  Fields tossed two touchdown passes to Quentin McKinney, and McKinney hit Alex Martinez on a receiver-reverse-pass to lead the comeback in the second half.

After the Martinez touchdown catch, the Avengers had the point-after blocked, but the Stampede was called for twelve men on the field.  With the game tied at 20 and the ball on the goal line for the PAT, the Avengers decided to go for two.  A quarterback sneak got the two points and the Avengers won 22-20.

In spite of the exhibition status, the game had the feel of a playoff game.  Head coach and Stampede owner Patrick Porter was upset with the twelve men on the field call after the referee waved his player on the field.  Further, he disputed that the Avenger quarterback broke the plane.  These two team have solidified their rivalry in the past couple of years.
