We are in the process of gathering information for the 2012 Spring Previews at Dfwfootball.net.

We are actively researching your website and Facebook pages, but if you want to help us out, we’d be happy to hear from you in order get a better look at your team.

We also might contact you for more information, so, bear with us.  We are hoping to be doing all of the Spring Previews in the month o

f February.  Some of the previews may carry over to the month of March.

We do want to preview your team!  Please don’t let us miss your football team. You can help us out by sending an email to us at info<at>dfwfootball.net or contact us through our Contact page.

Some things you might want to include are:

• Coaches/Staff
• Players/positions
• Type of offense and defensive scheme you run
• Contact info such as website and social media networks
• League you play in
• Any current personnel needs
• Where you play/practice
• Copy of a schedule
• Logo/artwork/pictures for the team
• Cheerleaders/Dancers information

These pieces of information will be very helpful to getting a preview on your team.  We currently working on teams from the American Eightman Football League for a series of previews we plan on publishing beginning February 6, 2012.

We will do the outdoor leagues first and progress to the women and arena teams.

We visited with Kim Clark, the head coach of the Garland Aztecs, on the dfwfootball radio show Tuesday night, and he indicated that the Aztecs are still looking for players.

Clark said in an email:

We are looking for QB’s, and lineman to complete what we think is a going to be a very good team in the MPFL. We now have a full coaching staff, trainers and a premiere home field. Please contact me, the head coach for more inforation and practice times.

The Aztecs will be playing in the MPFL.

Allen Wranglers

For over a month, the Allen Wranglers have been negotiating to sign former Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Terrell Owens.  You may have heard of him.

Today, via their Facebook Page, the Wranglers announced the deal has happened.

This will make Wranglers’ games one of the hottest tickets in towns, and will no doubt put “fans in the stands.” This is good news for Spring football in the DFW Metroplex.  Fans will get to see the Wranglers play and Owens who is sure to be considered for the NFL Hall of Fame.

We are trying to get more information from the Wranglers organization, so stay tuned!

Arena football is one of the most popular Spring football sports.  If you’ve never been to an arena game, do yourself a favor and check one out. The pace is fast, it’s exciting and full of lots of action.  This season, the Metroplex will see four teams take the field in arena football.

Allen Wranglers

The Wranglers debuted last season and changed owners at the end of the season. The Wranglers will be looking to be competitive in the Indoor Football League. The Wranglers pay in the Allen Events Center in Allen, TX.

Wranglers WR Wonseleh Brewer

The biggest news in the off-season was the Wrangler’s offer to Terrell Owens to play. There is no official word, as of yet, whether or not T.O. has signed, but if he has, this would be a huge boost to the second year organization. Further, fans will flock to see the former Dallas Cowboys receiver and what he can do in arena football.

Mesquite Bandits

The Mesquite Bandits is a new team in a new league.  The Lone Star Football League formed this off-season with several Texas teams from the IFL jumping to the new league. North Texas Crunch owner Larry Hendrix, Jr. is set to be the Bandits’ Assistant Coach. Rodney Blackshear will serve as the Head Coach. Resistol Arena will be the home for the Bandits, so they should have a great setting to watch arena football.

North Texas Crunch

The Crunch has been the flagship franchise for the Independent Indoor Football Alliance for the first four years. Last season, the Crunch yielded the IIFA championship when the East Texas Wranglers won the title.  The Crunch will be looking to regroup and challenge for the 2012 IIFA Championship.

DFW Texans

The Texans is a new organization, but they have been around. The Texans became an expansion team in the IIFA combining the teams of the Texas Krush and the Southlake Pirates. The team is holding another Open Tryout this coming weekend.

Dallas Vigilantes

The Dallas Vigilantes were the local team that were members of the AFL. After its first season, the teams has been very quiet on its Facebook and website.  There are no mentions of the 2012 season, and, it seems, they are not listed on the AFL schedule. It looks like, the Vigilantes are done, or, at least, done with Dallas.  It looks as if we will not be watching the Vigilantes this Spring.

The Spring 2012 season is approaching, and we will need those who can help us turn out the latest and best news on semi-pro and minor league football along with offseason news from the Fall teams.

Do you love the Cowboys the TCU Horned Frogs, the SMU Mustangs or the UNT Mean Green? How about College football in general. We have need to add to our bloggers for both the Spring and Fall. If you feel you can write about one of the three college football teams, the Dallas Cowboys or DFW college football in general, let us know.

Sports Writers

If you love football, and are looking to be  a writer in the sports news industry, let us know.  There is no better place to begin than Dfwfootball!  You can attend Spring football games for one of almost 20 different teams and get information for writing an article at Dfwfootball.  In addition, we have contacts in several of the local franchises that may allow you to pursue your dream.

Radio

We run an internet radio show through our podcast.  If you would like to share your knowledge of the area teams, let us know. We can give you a shot through our radio show.

Photographers

The need is great to have excellent pictures. Dfwfootball dispatch reporters to the semi pro football games in the Spring and we can use photographers to take great pictures.  This is a great way to increase your portfolio for sports images. You will receive exposure for your work as we will link to your website or online portfolio and give you credit for your work. We will also encourage readers to purchase your pictures.

The tryout will start at 9am and the cost is $50.00.
