Reporting your scores to dfwfootball.net

Headhunters

Savage Headhunters

We want to post your scores, and we will spend time searching for the scores.  For example, last Saturday night, February 25, 2012, I spend time searching for scores of local teams via Twitter, Facebook and through deependmedia.net.

Scoreboard

As a result, we were able to display scores that night that were available on Sunday morning.  Time is of the essence and we want to be the top source for all scores in the DFW area.

Therefore, we need your help to deliver scores. Below, I have listed the many different ways you can get us the scores.

1. Twitter- We monitor our twitter account, especially on Saturday night. You can send a tweet to us (@dfwfootball or @chaserader) which will help us compile scores.  Further, if you want, you can use the hashtag #dfwfootballscores.

2.  Facebook-Many of you will update your Facebook pages or profiles.  Simply send us the score or alert us through Facebook as well.  If you haven’t already, go ahead and like our page Facebook.com/dfwfootball.

3. Email-Simply send us a your scores via email to info@dfwfootball.net.  You can send it, or have somebody to send it, using your iPhone or smartphone after your game.

4. Pictures-Send us pictures too.  Give credit to the photographer, etc., and we may use the pic in the score updates along with the name of the person who took the photo.

The MPFL adds four from the DFW area

MPFL Announcement

The Minor Professional Football League has added four teams from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  Joining the MPFL are the 2011 Texas United Football Leageu Champions Cooke County Outlaws, the Collin County Rattlers and two new teams, the Dallas Warhawx and the Tarrant County Calvary.

After a successful debut year in the TUFL, the Outlaws are bringing their high powered offense to the MPFL.  The TUFL has stated on its website that the Outlaws were dismissed due to improper benefits to the players by the Cooke County coaching staff.

The TUFL was in the process of informing the Cooke County Outlaws and the League membership that the Outlaws would not be allowed to return to the TUFL in 2012 as a result of key league violation in 2011. . .

Payment or reimbursment to players is a clear violation of League rules. It jeopardizes the amateur status of our young athletes with college eligibilty. The message is clear,”the TUFL will not tolerate violations jeopardizing the college eligibility of our players!”

There were other very questionable conduct and ethical violations which the league is choosing not to elaborate on, or disclose.  (TUFL Website)

According to sources with Deep End Media,  the benefits were gas cards and food vouchers for the Championship game only.  Cooke County knocked off the Hunt County Longhorns 34-16 on June 18 to win the TUFL title.

The Collin Count Rattlers is one of the newest teams in the DFW area, and in three years, the teams has made a splash including an appearance in the TUFL Championship game in 2010.  This past season, the Rattlers lost to the Longhorns 26-12 in the semi-finals after entering the playoffs as the number one seed.  Of course, the Rattlers is the home of the famous Venom Girls.

The Dallas Warhawx is a new team that will be coached by Don High, Steven Laster, Angel Rivera III and Mark Ezell.

We have learned very little about the Tarrant County Calvary.

Defenders visit Children’s Medical Center

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - DECEMBER 10: John Toomey, dressed as Santa Claus, laughs while waiting for customers at Lefty O'Douls on December 10, 2010 in San Francisco, California. John Toomey, a Santa Claus lookalike who worked every holiday season at Macy's in San Francisco for the past 20 years, was fired this past week after he told a innapropriate joke to an older couple while they sat on his lap. He quickly landed a new job at Lefty O'Doul's bar and hofbrau one block from Macy's. He also appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Thursday. (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)
Once again, the Dallas Defenders will be visiting the Children’s Medical Center in Plano on Dec. 15th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. Santa will be arriving in a CareFlite helicopter. Santa and the Defender players will be delivering gifts to the children who will not be at home for Christmas this year. The Defenders have arranged for several police and fire vehicles to be on site for the children and their families to view up close.

The Defenders have “adopted” the youth football team from the Gainesville State School, a Maximum Security Juvenile Detention Center. The Gainesville Tornadoes have been featured on ESPN and locally with the Defenders on news stations in the DFW area. The Defenders provide football camps and attend games to support the youth members on the football team. The Gainesville Tornadoes won their very first game this past year and the Defenders presented a trophy to the team.

The Defenders partnered with the Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas in 2009. The Defenders help raise vital funds to support this generous charity. The Guns & Hoses Foundation supports families of police officers and firefighters that were killed in the line of duty.

The Dallas Defenders completed Fall Camp this past November and will start regular practices in January. The Defenders went undefeated during their 2010 regular season however lost in the National Championship in Phoenix, Arizona in June.

The first game for the 2011 season will be @ Houston Gunners on March 12th. The Defenders first home game will be on April 16th against the Central Texas Wolf Pack. The Defenders will travel to San Diego, California on May 7th to play the San Diego Enforcers. The Defenders will then host the defending National Champions, the Phoenix Thunder, on May 21st.

The Defenders are always looking to add depth to their talented team. The Defenders would like to add more players, coaches and volunteers to the Defender family in 2011.

For more information please view our new website: www.DallasDefendersFootball.org

The Dallas Defenders wish you a safe and happy holiday season.
