June Dancers of the Month Nominees

We have three nominees for the June Dancer of the Month.  All three are from the Collin County Rattlers, the only team to submit nominees.  We will run the voting for a week until June 5, and then we will announce the winners on Sunday, June 6th.

In addition, we will run a Dance Team of the Year contest starting June 20th. The voting for the Dance Team of the Year will last for two weeks, and the winning team will be announced in July.  I am working on some kind of prize for the winning team.

Embarrassing moment: I had the pleasure of working the Autograph table at the 2010 NBA All Star Game Jam Session in Dallas, I came in contact with tons of great NBA players and the wonderful Avery Johnson was one of the Legends who attended the autograph session and boy did we make contact. When I went up to talk to him and get a picture with him, I pushed the autograph table into him almost knocking him off the stage! He laughed and kindly said “don’t knock me over now”. He still took time to say bye to me as I continued to work as he departed about 15 minutes later.

If you could have one day to hang out with any person in the world living or dead, who would it be: Michael Jackson! I would just want him to talk, talk, and talk. I feel he lives inside every performing in this world. Every performer including myself has said, I want to do that, referring to something Michael did, even if it was just a spin, or a hat trick, or something he did lyrically. I would want him to just tell me what kept him going and why/how he loved everyone & everything even if there were no trusting those around him. From there I would just be fully inspired/motivated and feel as if I knew the answer to everything.

Fun facts: I’m a wildlife Biologist. I worked with lions, tigers, cougars for 2 years. I would love to get into wildlife conservation.

Embarrassing moment: During dress rehearsal, for Miss Texas USA, I was dancing on the top tier on the stage and the strap holding my dress up…broke. So I start running, ducking and weaving through a sea of dancing beauty queens holding my dress together as best as I could. I’m sure giving the onlookers a great show. I got to the end of the runway yelling “wardrobe malfunction” and the staff, there to assist us any situation, didn’t have needles or thread. The next night I competed and danced my heart out in a dress held up with safety pins.

First Dancers of the Month Nominees

I want to thank the dance team coordinators for submitting their nominees for the first-ever, Dancers of the Month contest at Dfwfootball.net.  Fans will have a hard time picking between these six lovely ladies.  The girls are all pictured below, and at the bottom of the post is the poll.  Choose one girl, and the first winner will be announced on May 2, 2010.

She will be featured for two weeks and the runner up will be featured the next two weeks.  Dance teams, be thinking about your nominees for next month now!  You can send them in whenever you are ready at todd@dfwfootball.net.

Dancers of the Month Nominations

Currently I have two Dancers of the Month nominations and I expect to have a few more soon.  If you haven’t sent in your Dance Team’s nomination, please do so this week.  You can email them to me at todd@dfwfootball.net.  I would like to do at least a week of voting before revealing the first dancers in May.  We will then continue the voting in May for June and so on.  Consequently, there will be two Dancers of the Month.  I will take the top two dancers in the voting.

We will receive nominations the first two weeks of May and vote the last two.

That will be the procedure.  Have your nominations ready for the next month early in the month!  This should generate a lot of interest for your team, your dance team and your dancers.  Encourage everybody to vote.  I will have a prominent spot on the right side bar where fans can vote.  Post the link on your team’s website, link to it on your twitter and your facebook accounts.

Once a girl is chosen from the votes, I will highlight them with a bio and the pictures you send them.  I will keep a small picture of them in sidebar under the header Dancers of the Month with a link to the feature page.

All semi pro football teams–outdoor, indoor and women’s–are invited to participate as long as you have a dance team.  Good luck!
