Lady Bulldogs Held Audtions on Saturday

October 18, 2009 by admin · View Comments

For Kimpell Richardson, this audition was important.  While only three girls showed up, there was a sense of optimism.  Richardson, owner of the Arlington Bulldogs, secured the services of Jammeila “Memi” J. Stephens from the Dallas Dazzlers Dance Team to help with the choreography.  Stephens is also a dancer for the Dallas Xpress, a NMLF football team.  NMLF is the league in which the Bulldogs will participate.

For the girls who came, it was a unique opportunity.  Each girl had different backgrounds.  For Vonisha Gray, it was a chance to broaden her horizons.  Gray participates in the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church’s Women of Praise Ministry.

Tiarra Mills danced in high school, but she hasn’t been active since.  This was a chance to get back in to the activity and keep fit.  Mills pointed out that she had always loved dance and wanted to get back in to what she loved.

Nandi Manning has no experience in organized dance whatsoever.  Manning decided to try something new.  She loves dancing so much that she enjoys dancing in the shower, and she thought she would give it a try.

All three girls found about the auditions from Myspace showing the power of social media.

If you missed the auditions, don’t panic.  There will be another audition on October 24th at Boys and Girls Club in Arlington.  Go to the Bulldogs’ website for more information.
