First Year coach Jackie Bridges leads the Diesel to the WFL World Bowl

The Dallas Diesel defeated the Iowa Sharks 20-10 last night to punch their ticket to the WFL World Bowl III.   The Diesel will face the top seed in the WFL playoffs, the Oklahoma Thunder who defeated the Austin Gamebreakers 101-6.

The game was played in Iowa sending the Diesel on a 14 hour drive.  The drive on the chartered bus was worth the trip as the Diesel overcame an early 10-0 deficit to claim the second spot in the World Bowl.

When asked about the trip to Iowa, Diesel running back Canoya Jefferson said after last week’s game, “To get where we want to go, we’ve got make that trip.”

Now the trip includes going to Tulsa for the WFL championship game.  The Diesel have a shot a second championship in four years.  Can the Diesel bring back to the Metroplex a second semi pro football championship in 2009?
